Operations Manager
Manage the manufacturing of industrial ventilation systems. Direct, through subordinate managerial personnel, plant operations for product design and engineering, purchasing, inventory control, production planning and scheduling, metal fabrication, welding, electrical, structural assembly, painting, quality control, maintenance, shipping & receiving, safety and human resources. Monitor JIT purchasing of materials. Maintain compliance with all applicable state and federal laws within OSHA, TEQC and labor laws. Promote organization 5S program. Evaluate division requirements and make recommendations for changes or additions of personnel, computer systems, machinery, equipment, facilities, etc. Monitor employees and departments to ensure operational objectives in the areas of cost, quality, productivity, delivery, and meeting customer commitments and deadlines. Select, evaluate, and motivate departmental managers. Insure implementation of basic polices for recruitment, hiring, training, and compensation of personnel. Promote a culture of teamwork, quality, productivity, continuous improvement and safety. Develop and maintain job related data to measure and continuously improve productivity, quality and safety. Review operations of the Division, compare them to established objectives, take steps to insure that appropriate measures are taken to correct unsatisfactory conditions; present results to President. Maintain open communications with top management to address and overcome operating problems and difficulties; develop and maintain effective internal relationships so as to control procedures and coordinate operations. Act as liaison between the company and its customers; act as a direct management contact in the event of a problem. Supervise the preparation of all Division statistics and reports to management. Maintain an “open” atmosphere conductive to free flow of communication throughout the organization.
