Mark leads the community planning practice for the Ontario office of PlaceWorks. Mark brings 20+ years of experience leading award-winning community planning projects for local government, cities, hospitals, and nonprofit organizations. Among others, projects include comprehensive general plans, housing studies, healthy community projects, and municipal service reviews.Specific experience includes:+ Comprehensive plans-including the Corona General Plan, Yucaipa General Plan, El Monte General Plan and Community Building Initiative, Highland Base Line Corridor Plan, San Bernardino Countywide Plan, and the WRCOG Sustainability Framework.+ Housing policy-including more than 50 housing elements, fair housing assessments, housing policy work, and other housing initiatives for communities in southern California, including Pasadena, Riverside, Ontario, Santa Ana, Whittier, La Habra, Yucaipa, San Dimas, San Bernardino, Moorpark, and other communities.+ Municipal services-including municipal service reviews for water, wastewater, resource conservation, parks and recreation, and fire services for local agency formation commissions (LAFCOs), as well as management studies of local government services.+ Healthy communities-including environmental scans, policy briefs, health and environmental justice elements for Ventura, Corona, San Bernardino County, Western Riverside Council of Governments, Healthy High Desert Coalition, Upland, Montclair|First 5, and various hospitals and nonprofits.+ Speaking engagements-New Partners for Smart Growth, High Desert Health Summit, Southern California Public Health Association, Southern California Association of Governments, Healthy Communities by Design, APA California Chapter, National Innovative Communities, and others.
