Innovating Protein Technologies for Therapeutic and Vaccine Design.Particular interests are: - building platforms to enhance vaccine generation, against viral diseases (influenza and Covid-19) and cancer, based on virus-like particles (VLPs) to induce broadly protective and logic-gated responses- design of ultra-stable protein interactions, including bacterial superglues SpyTag/SpyCatcher, SnoopCatcher, DogCatcher, SnoopLigase and monovalent streptavidin/traptavidin/flavidin- targeting in the GI tract through design of protease-resilient gastrobodies- creating new protein architectures, including programmable protein teams for spatial control of receptor signaling to stimulate the immune system or cancer apoptosis.- covalent decoration of endogenous proteins with NeissLock technology to enhance cell therapy against cancer.- promoting entrepreneurship for group members, the Department and the wider University.

Lecturing on Enzymes, Microscopy, Single Molecule Approaches, Synthetic Biology, Protein Engineering and Evolution, Entrepreneurship, Biotechnology for Biochemistry Undergraduates and Centres for Doctoral Training.
