He is experienced in leading teams of advocates and directing lawyers in complex cases, especially those that are document heavy, and he has also appeared in the DIFC Courts in cases involving freezing orders, document discovery, insolvency, investment litigation and the recovery of costs. He has in addition appeared in several cases in the QFC Court, Qatar.Advocacy in arbitration includes construction and property disputes in the UAE and similar disputes in Saudi Arabia, international trade, conflict of laws, charter party disputes, agency agreements, and appeals and challenges to Awards. A specialist in Arab and Islamic laws, Dr Hoyle has more than 26 years’ experience of advocacy and expert advisory work in the laws of Egypt and other Arab and Islamic jurisdictions, including the UAE, Iraq, Kuwait and Afghanistan. He sits as an arbitrator and acts as a mediator. He is the editor-in-chief. and creator and co-founder of the Arab Law Quarterly, and a visiting professor at the University of Leeds.
