Provide the technical and business expertise for transitioning some of ASM’s critical refurbishment business from an outsourced model to in-house refurbishment. The parts were primarily robotics in nature, or complex mechanical devices of which are vital in meeting customer expectations in the form of cost, quality and performance. Provided extensive Engineering DOE's, testing and design changes to address a chronic issue with an in-house designed Robotic Arm.

A $3M technology startup. Recruited to design products and create markets in the private sector. Drove sales and marketing campaigns and developed e-Commerce site. Directed the overall operation, consisting of an approximate budget of $200K and a small staff.Grew business from concept to multi-site operation: ITP was targeting expansion into the private sector. Developed and directed design, engineering, manufacturing and technical support. Conducted marketing campaign to secure placement of new product lines. Oversaw business unit budget and P&L. Introduced six new products which lead to production orders, and later required a second facility.Slashed production costs and significantly increased product life: Large equipment company client was experiencing high failure rate on specific part. Engineered design solution, simplifying production of part, eliminating premature failures, improving repeatability, and increasing resistance and viability of part when exposed to extreme conditions. Reduced part cost 20% and extended part life from 8 months to 24 months

Promoted to lead service team handling Texas Instruments global account, one of Novellus’s largest clients. Charged with rebuilding customer relationship, oversaw all service contracts, warranty, billable services, installations, upgrades, inventory and customer support for four TI manufacturing facilities. Directed $10M budget and a staff greater than 40.

Upon taking on this role, both the Product Support and Technical Training groups required extensive downsizing and realignment. Through this activity, was able to maintain a very high level of support by building a close team, reorganizing to align skills/experience to the appropriate positions, and focusing on key objectives to support the Field Service organization. Primary objectives of the combined departments were customer satisfaction, expense control, and generation of revenue along with cost reduction while maintaining world-class support. Developed projects such as in-house refurbishment of 2 different robot types used on CMP equipment. Implemented several web-based systems which allowed Product Support to provide an additional level of support to our Service organization and global customer base. Introduced weekly, worldwide service meetings to address and provide updates to issues across all regions.
