I am now looking for a third career, one that would challenge me to continue to grow professionally using the skills, experiences, and knowledge that I have accumulated from my peers, mentors, and random confidants. Though much of my life has been in leadership it has always been in roles that have required strong accountability to my immediate supervisor(s) and/or boards. I am not a micro-manager but rather a strong believer that by providing the right training, tools, and resources to the right person, a staff member can be successful within their assigned domain with only minimal check-ins and periodic reviews. Much of my adult life, both at work and home has been a cross-cultural contrast from my rural, Anglo, insular upbringing in the western US. Outside of my professional life I am active in community efforts that advocate for affordable housing, solutions for metropolitan 'food deserts', and participate in the urban farming movement. I am a person of faith living in an immigrant community.
