Lead and drive the strategic development, execution, and advocacy of Pear's state and local policy, and political agenda in the West, Central Plains, and Midwest (25 States). Partner with Communications, Advocacy, Market Access, Corporate Affairs, Legal, Patient Advocacy, Marketing, Medical Affairs, and Sales Teams to drive policy development that is aligned with the U.S. Commercial strategy goals.-Develop and execute comprehensive strategies to shape state legislative activity and deliver on business priorities.-Assess state and local political and public policy environment, determine where legislative and regulatory action is advisable and where it is not, and make recommendations on Pear action. -Represent Pear in matters of state and local legislation, regulations, or rules that have an impact on the enterprise and state/local business operations and drive favorable resolutions to those matters. -Proactively evaluate legislation, regulations, and rules, as well as the political environment. -Assess both opportunities and threats to Pear’s interests and create comprehensive Government Affairs strategies to address them that include lobbying, third-party advocacy, policy development, and media engagement on legislation/policy goals.-Engage with these key business stakeholders and develop keen understanding of commercial strategies in the region to ensure government affairs strategies support Pear’s commercial objectives.-Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with state legislators and staff, state executive branch officials, regulators, and local government officials in order to anticipate action and execute GA strategies.-Manage outside consultants and lobbyists within region, including setting objectives and ensuring execution in support of state legislative strategies. -Rigorous compliance to all legally required registrations for the corporation, staff and outside counsel within the position’s region.

Reporting to U.S. Public Sector and other senior executives, lead and drive the strategic development, execution, and advocacy of Cisco’s state and local policy, and political agenda in the West, Central Plains, and Mid-West (25 States). - Develop and maintain positive and effective relationships with governmental entities, state and local elected and appointed officials, and other outside stakeholders.- Advise the Country Digital Acceleration Program on work with public sector entities.- Collaborate cross-functionally with various departments (e.g. Legal and Compliance, HR, Communications, Finance, Sales, etc.) to best position Cisco on legislative and regulatory issues.- Research and conduct analyses on current and proposed legislation, and provide position recommendations based on their potential implications to the business. - Craft position papers, presentations, publication pieces, and briefings for executive leadership teams on legislation and political issues; develop policy positions from those conversations. - Advocate for Cisco’s policy positions at trade association meetings and other local and regional governmental agency meetings. - Provide direction and manage Cisco’s state and local contract lobbyists, and interview, hire, and train new contract lobbyists for emerging markets.- Provide testimony to State Legislatures, Board of Supervisors, City Councils, etc. on Cisco’s policy positions.
