Business Board Representative - Delivering superfast broadband to 90% of businesses across the county by 2015/16. If your business requires superfast please let me know so that I can ensure you are covered.Worcestershire council has promised £8.5m towards providing superfast broadband across the county. The county council's cabinet made a commitment to faster broadband for most homes and businesses by 2015.The objectives, scope and approach of the Local Broadband Plan (LBP) for Worcestershire were also agreed.Further funding is to come from the government's Broadband Delivery UK (BDUK), the Green Infrastructure fund, DEFRA and sustainable transport funding.

The Business Board provides a sounding board for advice and feedback to the Executive Board to ensure that the voices of local businesses are heard, as well as being a conduit to facilitate wider engagement with leaders in the business, public and third sector communities. As new Chair of the Business Board, I am honoured to take up this role and look forward to working closely with the Vice Chair, Steve Borwell-Fox. I am passionate about Worcestershire and want us to encourage positive change that continues to raise Worcestershire’s profile regionally, nationally and internationally to encourage growth and increase the number of jobs, while promoting innovation and skills development.
