Have over 30 years experience in Supply Chain. I began my career as a transportation clerk while in living in Canada, and then transferred to the L.A. (my home) when a position became available. Remained in the transportation industry for a number of years while putting myself through university and then in 2006 an opportunity came along at Smart & Final for the position of Traffic Supervisor. It was exactly what I was looking for since I had been wanting to move from transportation and customers like Smart & Final, to the vendor side dealing and negotiating with carriers. My former experience has served me well and more importantly saved my employer thousands of dollars in transportation costs over the past 13 years. One specific job function that I am not only good at but enjoy very much is looking for new business for S&F to manage. This requires not only good analytical skills in the data but then applying the correct cost analysis to see if there is money to be made at the end of the day and fortunately there is, $3 million annually.
