Member of the science team which is responsible for the demand modeling of products for brick and mortar stores. Data fitting using maximum likelihood to create demand models for optimal price selection, inventory forecast, and similar store clustering. Worked on product cannibalization and store level modeling. Data analysis made use of Python and Pandas. Developed technique for evaluating accuracy of demand model on few samples of a Poisson distribution with variable mean.

Overview: efficient software implementation of a physical system. Implement streamlined version of Finite Element Model. Objective was to create a near realtime simulation which still maintained critical physical properties. Effort included kinematic physical modeling, numerical linear solver, contact detection and resolution, as well as adaptive capabilities to modify mesh, time step, and determine simulation settle time. Worked with mechanical and computer software engineers to develop and implement all aspects of the simulation. Development effort was in C++. Responsible for complete design and development of architecture and software. Parameter space ranged between 10k-100k variables and required efficient linear solvers and numerical integrators.

Overview: systems engineering of a complex scheduling system which interfaced with multiple parties.Task lead to develop, integrate, and test resource scheduler of TDRS satellites. Worked with NASA engineers to refine requirements. Developed a scheduling approach which met requirements, cost, and schedule. Worked across multiple ground scheduling teams to integrate resource scheduler into larger system. Development effort was in Java.

Overview: technical data analysis to provide software solution to mathematical and physical problems.Senior member of the RF communication team for a communication satellite system. Worked as contractor for duration of the time.Responsibilities were on a variety of topics. Scheduling of communication links to ensure successful fault responsiveness. Data analysis to identify ground interferers on a global scale. Developed an on-orbit range and range rate measurement from RF signal to provide optimal signal and covariance to ground processing. Developed automated data analysis tool to provide daily review of all collected performance metrics.Provided systems review of communication system to ensure customer quality was maximized.Skills utilized included optimization, data analysis, data filtering, network scheduling, signal processing, and software development of efficient technical systems (satellites have relatively small memory and CPU capabilities).

Lead evaluation effort on CEP/SEP requirements for missile tracking program using covariance data from residuals and filter in a Monte Carlo simulation.Responsible for regular briefings to Aerospace Corporation (customer’s technical review team) using Matlab demonstrations, PowerPoint, and design documents.Tech lead for development of high precision nonlinear filter to acquire and track targets. Filter capable of operating with single sensor platform as well as integrating measurements across multiple sensor platforms.Perform trade study to compare high precision nonlinear filter against EKF, Unscented KF, and particle filter.Develop new measurement processing technique to better handle nonlinearities in transformation between state and measurement space, and reduce biases.Develop event detection algorithm by re-using high precision tracking algorithm. Analyze eigenvalues to develop new technique of reprocessing measurements in filter without creating ringing.
