Following the management buy-out of the Stroma Group, Stroma Evolution was rebranded Evotech in April 2017 to create an independent UK-wide technical services business, specialising in helping customers improve how their buildings perform, maintain their business infrastructures and achieve legislative compliance.

Co-founded Stroma Evolution in January 2011 with business partner John Lumb as a joint venture with the Stroma Group, a UK leader in building sustainability and energy efficiency, to create a boutique technical services business capable of improving how buildings perform, optimise mechanical & electrical infrastructures and reduce running costs.

I joined MITIE in September 2002, to set up MITIE Engineering Maintenance in the North of England, with co-director John Lumb. Together we built the business into one of the UK's leading technical service providers, employing more than 300 employees, working across the NHS, central government, automotive, retail, commercial and education sectors, with annual revenues in excess of £40M.

I returned to George S Hall as Commercial Director in 2000, responsible for all commercial activities in the North, I was directly accountable for regional business growth, work in progress conversion to sale and business development. During my tenure revenue grew by £2M PA, GP increased by 10% and aged work in progress also improved.

During my time at Zurich, I held full responsibility for all engineering activity, directing all operational activities and working to the CEO on business development, developing the 5 year plan, whilst working with the CFO on projected business and departmental budgets.

As Regional Operations Manager, I reported directly to the Regional Managing Director on all operational issues and was ultimately responsible for regional profitability, producing P&L accounts, estimated results, contract costing and budgets for the region.

I started working for George S Hall in 1990 as a Mobile Service Engineer and was responsible for building services at business and commercial premises across the North West of England and Wales.

As Site Services Engineer and shift leader for a multi-disciplined maintenance team within a multi temperature distribution centre for Tesco, I was responsible for planned and reactive maintenance within the refrigeration plant.

As a Mobile Electrical Engineer, I was responsible for planned and preventative maintenance of petrol station forecourt canopy and signage systems along with the installation of illuminated signage at motorways, retail premises, petrol stations and motorway service areas.

I learned my trade and honed my skills during my service as a Marine Engineer in the Royal Navy, maintaining state of the art ships in some of the most challenging environments.
