Overall Purpose: Responsible for supporting the NP&E Layer 0-2 personnel developing network designs for wireline and broadband infrastructure. Key Roles and Responsibilities: Responsibilities include working with Labs, product development, and engineering teams to actually author process documentation, methods, procedures, and guidelines for current network planning, capacity management, and network builds. Coordinates and interfaces with internal customers to ensure service commitments are met. Uses software applications and databases to assist in creating the process and M&P documents. Prepares/oversees presentations, installation, problem resolution and multivendor product integration. May provide initial implementation support of networks to assure proper execution and provides resolution for system failures or degradations. Provide project management and documentation as required.

Planned the long-range Layer 2, Metro Ethernet and OpteMan (Cisco 7609) Ethernet network for North Florida, Louisiana, Alabama, Indiana and Illinois. Planned and executed build of core Juniper IPAG network in 5 of 7 CBSA’s in North Florida. Built Layer 1 network for Project Lightspeed core network while on loan from Layer 2 for 6 months. Balanced technology needs with budgetary constraints.

Planned the long-range architecture for BellSouth’s network including switching, ATM, broadband, Ethernet, ADSL services network, and SONET. Designed SONET rings and services. Balanced technology needs with budgetary constraints. Designed and maintained intranet website using Front Page and Dreamweaver. Oversaw e-tizing of organizations data. Worked on next generation packet voice tandem design for real application. Planned Lightspeed – Uverse network for North Florida. SME for ArcView GIS mapping software.

Managed 12 union employees responsible for inputting Nortel DMS software translations that routed and billed calls for the North Florida area. Maintained call center environment and interfaced with internal and external customers to provide exceptional customer service. Participated in the NISC training committee.

Last Project: Reporting to the Southeast Region VP, in all matters related to HFC residential telephony implementation for Comcast in the Southeast Region. Elements of last project included billing, installation, engineering (telephony, SONET & CATV), regional staffing, sales, marketing, customer service, repair, CO/Hub construction, node & plant upgrades, NOC implementation, methods & procedures, IT enterprise systems, OSS, interconnection, translations, provisioning, metrics reporting and management of other project managers.

Signal Corp NCO June 1987 – 1997: SSG in the Signal Corp for 10 years. Trained on wire systems installation, carrier installation.Team Chief - August 1985 - May 1987:Maintained two line vehicles and one 2 1/2 ton cargo truck. Supervised six installers in installation, maintenance, repair and recovery of field wire and cable systems. Served as programmer/operator of AT&T Dimension 600 PBX and mobile Switch. Worked part-time with Best-Tel Company installing various key systems.Wire Systems Installer/Operator - December 1983 - August 1985:Constructed, installed, repaired and recovered field wire systems and cable systems. Served as cargo truck operator and received Drivers Badge for logging over 120,000 accident free miles operating a 10-wheeled, all-wheel drive cargo vehicle.

Responsible for network surveillance and analysis of the AT&T 5ESS switch and Alltel nationwide digital network. Network switches included GTD 5EAX, Stromberg Carlson DCO, Northern Telecom DMS-100 & DMS-10, AT&T 5ESS, and Northern Telecom PBX SL1, and all of their peripherals.

Troubleshot, programmed and installed analog and digital key systems, PBX's and peripherals. Features utilized by clients included automatic call distribution (ACD), call accounting, digital data switching, least cost routing (LCR), and voice mail systems (VMS).
