This is the most rewarding role I have ever had. As part of the drilling industry in PNG, the initiatives that we put in place have a direct impact on the lives, families, communities and economy of the local workforce. A lot of work still to do but we are making a difference.

North Ryde

In this role I provided specialist advice and capability to support the organisations technical and safety development needs. I worked closely with the organisations safety leaders to define and then deliver staff development that affected positive change.

In this role, I consulted to the Easternwell parent company, Transfield Services to meet their development needs in the Health and Safety space. The role requires high level consultation with senior management supported by a hands-on approach to identify then deliver key performance improvements.

The Project Management Training SpecialistsOnly in this role for a short period, I managed to achieve a lot. I launched the company’s first two eLearning products (Diploma of Project Management and Advanced Diploma in Project Management) via the Moodle platform. This required a critical review of all learning and assessment materials, establishing internal processes to manage student completion and record keeping, and establishing and meeting compliance requirements of an RTO for these products. During this period I also developed new training and assessment material to support changes to the Australian project management qualifications. In my spare time, I delivered accredited and non-accredited training courses in Project Management to a variety of customers including NSW Premiers Department and Campbelltown City Council as well as public courses. I also revitalised and maintained the company’s website, establishing Google analytics to track data allowing analysis of performance.

With a team of specialised L&D Managers, we managed the technical development needs of Thales Australia and New Zealand. Specifically, development across the following fields; Project Management, Marketing and Sales, Software and Systems Engineering, Trades and Production skills development as well as Workplace Health and Safety.

The last part of my 21 year military career was within the Operations cell managing the staff development activities for Northern NSW. A significant part of this role required the coordination and compliance of safety needs that underpin High Risk training activities. This involved resourcing, forecasting and detailed planning to enable thousands of soldiers to participate in military training exercises that were abundant with real risks.
