Provides advice and assistance on complicated problems or issues regarding project or program operations that can be resolved through the application of routinely accepted practices. Advises supervisors and safety representatives of appropriate safety and occupational health measures to control or eliminate hazardous operating processes or environmental conditions. Advises senior level management officials within the assigned area on the status of the safety and occupational health programs. Conducts periodic on-site occupational health surveys and inspections of operations and facilities to ensure applicable health and safety requirements are met. Prepares reports on inspections and follows up to ensure that corrective action is taken. Assists accident and mishap task teams, fact-finding boards, investigation committees, and special working groups to ensure that safety and health considerations are incorporated in programs and activities. Responds to emergencies, coordinates stabilization of emergency site, and effects the smooth transition of the emergency condition to local municipal fire and emergency service organizations.

Assisted in managing ground safety program elements with over 3, 000 employees. Managed installation confined space program, evaluated training and master entry plans for compliance with USAF and OSHA mandated requirements. Performed evaluations and, inspections of base facilities to eliminate mishap potential. Conducted safety education training. Served as safety consultant to leadership, supervisors, and functional managers on hazard analysis, safety criteria, and operational techniques.
