CurrentDelivery lead for the Station of the Metro Martin Place Integrated Station Development, from bulk excavation to the start of first passenger services. Lendlease, as design and construction partner, was appointed by Macquarie Group to deliver Australia’s first fully integrated station for Sydney Metro – a world-class transport hub, and landmark commercial, retail and public precinct in the heart of Sydney, valued at over AU$3 billion. The Metro Martin Place Station was constructed under and around the heritage-listed 50 Martin Place, and includes connections to the existing Martin Place commuter rail line, a new underground pedestrian tunnel, and extensive improvements to the Martin Place plaza and public domain. The project involved complex interface with a wide range of stakeholders and contractors including Sydney Metro, Macquarie Group and City of Sydney, along with rail contractors and Metro Trains Sydney. Sydney Metro is Australia’s biggest public transport project.
