Site Manager
For the last 16 months I have worked on Nepean Health Hub as Site Foreman I started as the structure was completed I have looked after all aspects of the job including installing cladding, services and completing all fit-out suits which include Castlereagh Imaging, Vertis Fertility clinic and lab and Octa Medical Gp clinic. As the company is based in Queensland and due to covid I've done this on my own for the majority of my time on this site.
Site Foreman
In this role I completed a number of projects ranging from 300k to 900k they all were overseen from demo to defects. They included a complete reclad of office building and relign of a fire system. 4 school toilet blocks, an office fitout and a complete re-roof of a school in a 2 week period.
Cw3/ Leading Hand
I was responsible for managing & coordinating subcontractors in the Atrium section of the Hospital. Works included management of 7 floors of extensive birdcage scaffold. My daily activities included coordination of ceiling space services, access panel positioning, installation of balustrades, wall joinery, lift lobby terrazzo and comm’s stairs fit-out whilst managing high risk activities such as, working from heights and working around live plant (multiple MEWP’s). During the completion period I was coordinating and completing defects in parallel with the Engineers.
Operations Manager
Throughout Sydney I run multiple small sites ranging from $50k - $250k. My main responsibilities include organizing materials and men to ensure the clients are happy and programs are met in a safe and timely manner. However this was not the direction I wished for my career to take. I am currently enrolled in a Cert IV in Building and Construction and wish to gain more experience for Tier 1 and 2 builders and hopefully build a career with one of them. I will be in class Mondays and Tuesdays from 5pm-9pm for the next 12 months from August.
Leading Hand/ Trade Co-Coordinator
The IBIS Hotel Upgrade €1mil, consisted of the refurbishment and fit out of the entire Hotel in Clondalkin county Dublin. The upgrade consisted of four floors, corridors, a restaurant, reception, bar and lounges. Specifically, works included the complete strip-out of corridors and rooms, general repairs to concrete floors and plaster work as well as upgrading the fire proofing in walls, doors and floors. All electrical and mechanical services upgrades. Upgrade and installation of new bathroom facilities including all floor and wall finishes – painting, tiling, carpeting and furniture fit out. My responsibilities included coordination of self-deliver trades from demo through to painting and tiling to ensure smooth transition between the trades and to create a consistent output. I worked side by side with the Site Manager/Foreman and generally managed a team of approximately 10 men at any given time.
Leading Hand
I worked directly for GCL on 399 Edgeware Road, it was a Morrison’s Super Store £7.4mil, it consisted of an underground car park with retail units above ground. It included a mix of RC concrete and steel frame construction. The first couple of months my days consisted of taking care of safety and environmental issues, everything from putting up temporary handrails to dewatering. Eventually I worked directly under the Site General Foreman and was responsible for an area and coordinated the different trade subcontractors for the sub and superstructure. Weekly tasks included diary inputs, site meetings, ensuring ITP’s were completed by the subcontractors and ultimately ensuring the program was met whilst always maintaining company safety standards.
Cw/Leading Hand
I experienced a mix of everything ranging from inground works to fit-out. I held the role as CW for the majority of my time here and the last few months was promoted to Leading Hand.
General Laborer
I spent over 3 years working for AW Edwards around 2008 – 2011 on St Mary’s multi storey car park and Warwick Farm multi storey car park adjacent to the train stations. I held multiple different roles on multiple projects. I gained experience as; Scaffolder, Trade Assistant, CW, Formworker, steel fixing, truck driver to name a few.
