As a member of 3 person IT team, I had the pleasure of providing IT support to 500 employees across the US. I also help design and implement a fully meshed Cisco-based VPN solution connecting remote offices throughout the US to the each other and to the corporate network while improving the efficiency and ease of use for all users.

As a Network Engineer I was responsible for administering and maintaining LAN/ WAN applications including, Citrix MetaFrame, CallExpress and the Microsoft Office Suite of applications. I was also one of two IT staff members providing network support to employees throughout Northern California with friendly technical expertise and efficient problem resolutions to sometimes complex and challenging IT and network issues. I was also involve in a nationwide VPN rollout connecting remote offices around the US with corporate resources.

As the network administrator in 1996 I created & established the domain “westernallied.com”. I also established & implemented Internet e-mail presence, then designed and created the first Western Allied website. In 1995/96 – I replaced a token ring network with an “hand built” Ethernet network, established a Point to Point WAN connection with the SoCal Office, configured Novell and Windows NT mail servers. Developed Windows 95 & XP desktop PC standards, wrote software documentation, virus protection guidelines, configured SonicWall firewalls, developed corporate TCP/IP, DNS & DHCP standards. Purchased the first large format LaserJet plotter that dramatically reduced plotting times & provided engineers with real-time access to their AutoCAD files.Created corporate Network, AutoCAD & printing policies.I managed day-to-day operations for a 3-person CAD department while providing daily Desktop support all employees.I also developed & taught corporate training classes for Email, Word & AutoCAD in both offices.
