Mr. Tanner has worked in the construction industry since 1985, and founded award-winning Mark Tanner Construction, Inc. in 1994 after graduating from U.C. Davis. His firm, Mark Tanner Construction, Inc. represents an experienced and diverse team of professionals who are at the forefront of the Tahoe region’s esteemed building community. More than 60 team members bring a unique depth, skill-set and passion to the company, who are collectively responsible for hundreds of custom homes throughout the area.Tanner was born in Daly City, Calif. in 1970, growing up in San Carlos, followed by attending and graduating from U.C. Davis with a degree in Political Science. Outside of work, Tanner is deeply involved in the Truckee-Tahoe community. He serves on the board of directors for the Truckee Donner Recreation & Park District, Truckee AYSO, Truckee Little League and the Contractors Association of Tahoe-Truckee. Previously he served on the Citizens Oversight Committee for the Tahoe Forest Hospital Measure C project for eight years. His deep involvement in the community was recognized several years ago when he won the Volunteer of the Year Award from the Truckee Chamber of Commerce.He lives in Truckee with his wife and three children, and enjoys a wide range of outdoor adventures with his family.
