I left Castrol to become a venture partner in an innovative start-up focussed around the recycling of rubber and the production of downstream materials and associated with the recycled rubber. Whilst the venture went through the initial Capital raising stage I performed Independent Consulting services covering Financial and IT for a number of small and medium-sized organisations. After being unsuccessful in securing exclusivity agreements around the end-to-end supply-chain for the product, the risk associated the initial Capital Investment became unviable and I entered the Consulting and Professional Services Industry.

National Role, responsible for all aspects of Castrol's Information Technology & Communications requirements including: Strategy, Capex, Projects Implementation, Support Services, Desktop, WAN, LAN, Mobility and DRP.Highlights included:- Upgrade of Distributed Computing environment from 6 x System 36 machines running IMAS/BPCS to a centralised I series platform running BPCS then JD Edwards.- Outsourced the management and maintenance of the i-series to IBM- Implemented Castrol's Disaster Recovery Plan following a fire in the main Admin building. Castrol were the first client to use the IBM Cumberland Forest DR facility in a live event.- Rolled-out lap-tops and Order/CRM application to the Salesforce- Rolled-out desktop application to remote 3rd-Party Distributors
