Work as part of a team of four system administrators to build, scale-out, automate, maintain and monitor large internal and external multi-application open source environment spread out globally, supporting several hundred developers. Build and configure virtual machines within VMware, write and deploy Ansible playbooks for mass configuration and monthly security patching, monitor servers and their services using Nagios, backups via Veeam monitored daily and troubleshooted when needed. Configure SSH public key authentication for developers and troubleshoot connection issues. Edit and utilize bash and python scripts whenever feasible. Environment consists of approximately 600 servers, some of which are used for large-scale open source projects such as the Yocto Project and Linux kernel development. Majority of environment is Debian based, with several CentOS 7 servers and some OpenSUSE, SLES 11sp4, CoreOS, and a few proprietary flavors of Linux. Mostly virtual with some servers on dedicated hardware and small but growing containerization with Docker. Source control changes via Git and GitHub and currently oversee quarterly audits on full department’s GitHub external teams and repositories.

Worked with Network/Systems Manager to identify and resolve email delivery issues for insurance client application system (based on MS Exchange 2010). Supported and maintained underlying systems of health care IRO's web application accessed by just under 100 internal and remote users, plus over 300 contracted medical professionals and clientele. VMware environment includes load-balanced server farms for web application, XenDesktop 7.15 server farms for secure VDI access, Windows Server 2008 and 2012 R2 DC and file servers, CentOS 6 and FreeBSD 11 third-party appliances all within a main office, nearby data center, and offsite DR. Coordinated efforts to maintain HIPAA and HITRUST compliance, ranging from weekly hardening updates to monthly and quarterly systems checks and security verification across the environment.

Onsite and remote support of over 100 users running Dell desktop and laptop systems, as well as mobile devices, virtual machines, physical servers, and networking equipment such as routers and switches. Assist IT Manager in all projects and take ownership of projects assigned. Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual updates with headquarters, three satellite offices, and four warehouses. Mostly a Windows 7 environment, with some Windows10, 8.1 and Mac OS 10.10. Back end consists mostly of virtualized Windows 2012 R2 servers on Hyper-V clusters, Dell PowerEdge R710 hosts with redundant DFS SAN storage and iDrac, 1 Gbps HP switched network, and WatchGuard firewall and wireless access points.
