In March 2021 I took over as leader for the Platform Insight and Analyse (PIA) division. Achievements, tasks and responsibilities have included:- Building the PIA division up to 50 consultants.- Year on year growth of EBIT results for the division.- Recruiting, onboarding and developing the PIA management team.- Recruitment and development of PIA's consultants.- Defining and delivering on strategy and goals.- Building a customer and project portfolio.- Managing deliveries and ensuring quality.- Bid and contract management.- Marketing of PIA's services through breakfast seminars and customer references.- Working across silos to develop and deliver interdisciplinary services.- Building and executing a competency plan for the division.- Building competency plan for PIA consultants.In this role I have also been a member of the leader group for Bouvet Øst, with a focus on operations, growth and development of Bouvet in the Østlandet region.

The Platform, Insight and Analyse (PIA) division was established in January 2020, with the goal of enabling our customers to become data driven with the use of cloud solutions. I was one of three managers tasked with building this division.A central challenge in this period was the outbreak of COVID-19 and the subsequent lockdown. Key achievements in this period included: - Ensuring all consultants had the tools and support to be productive.- Successfully managing constant change.- Streaming breakfast seminars to market the new PIA division and it's services.- Arranging frequent social events for our consultants (such as online Escape Rooms and online cooking classes). - Tight cooperation with other Bouvet regions for manning of projects across geographical boundaries. - Arranging online courses for competence development and cloud certification.- Recruitment of data engineers, data scientists, dashboard developers and data architects.Despite the various challenges with the Corona pandemic we ended 2020 completely sold out.

In Late 2017 I was given the task of building up a Data Science competency centre at Bouvet's Oslo office, with the goal of positioning Bouvet for projects involving Data Science and Machine Learning.As this was a new business area for Bouvet Oslo I started by building up my own knowledge base. This was key to developing a recruitment strategy in addition to being able to evangelise this new business area both within Bouvet and also out at our customers. I grew the Data Science team from 0 to 9 members and delivered projects across a range of customers, including: - NLP for metadata extraction from scanned documents.- Image Processing for quality checking installation of AMS installation.- Reinforcement Learning for planning maintenance of public transport.- Algorithms for ensuring optimal traffic flow in known problem areas.- Machine Learning for ensuring optimal balance across the Norwegian National Grid.- Defining AI and Machine Learning strategies.In addition I worked closely with the team to define a Data Science Process based upon CRISP-DM and the Microsoft Team Data Science Process.Sharing knowledge and competence is a passion of mine and I have blogged about my experiences getting started with Data Science and Machine Learning. I have also spoken at a range of conferences about these subjects. At the JFokus conference in Sweden, my talk "A Practical(ish) Introduction to Data Science" was rated as the best talk by the conference attendees.

In 2012 I took leadership of one of Bouvet's Java departments. My duties included recruitment and development of consultants, project management, personnel responsibility, delivery management, sales and marketing.Key achievements included: - Growing the department from 14 to 27 consultants.- Achieving strong economic results for the department with year on year growth.- Establishing Bouvet's Architect School program, which has to date had over 100 graduates.- Establishing Bouvet's System Developer School.- Working on a wide range of successful bids.- Arranging BouvetOne - an internal knowledge sharing event.- Raising Bouvet's profile in the local developer community through conferences, blogging and Meetups.

In this period I was engaged by Avinor, who operate the majority of civil airports in Norway. My primary task was the analysis of Avinors ERP solution, which was at that time based on multiple platforms and systems. The end result was an AS-IS architecture map along with multiple suggestions for potential TO-BE architectures, with a gap analysis and plan for implementing each of the TO-BE architectures.

javaBin are the Norwegian Java User Group (JUG), a regional based organisation with 3000 members. In addition to organizing JavaZone, javaBin also organizes a range of community events and meetups around Norway. javaBin is also one of the two partners behind Teknologihuset - a free meeting place for meet-ups and tech communities in Oslo.Find out more about how we contribute to the Norwegian Java Community at java.no.

Here I was part of a 4-6 man team working with COMET, an Integration / Service Platform built upon Java, Spring and the Oracle Service Bus (OSB). My responsibilities included the analysis, design and implementation of new integrations.Over time I took on more responsibility and eventually had a Team Leader role, where I developed and introduced a hybrid Scrum/KanBan model for managing team deliveries. I was also responsible for coordinating a geographically distributed team, with team members located in Eastern Europe, Oslo and India.

In ObjectWare (now Itera) I worked in a dual role as a Team Leader and Senior Consultant. As a Team Leader I had personell responsibility for a team of 8-10 consultants. My activities in this role included recruitment, coaching and competence development.As a Senior Consultant I worked initially for KLP where I helped with long term IT Strategy and the implementation of a new Java based Integration Platform. I was also engaged by Telenor Cinclus where I helped develop a Java based backend for a Automated Meter Reading (AMR) solution.

At NetCom I had the role of a Java developer in the Integration Department. Here I worked in a team of 3-6 people, where we had responsibility for a business critical middleware solution providing API's to a range of internal and external users and systems.
