As the Associate Dean for Finance, Administration, and Strategy, I provide leadership and direction to the fiscal and administrative operations within the Charles J. Widger School of Law, serving as the Chief Operations/Financial Officer and playing a lead role in driving strategic initiatives. I am responsible for conducting analysis, creating proposals, and developing systems to secure and enhance the use of financial, staffing, physical plant, information technology, and administrative resources in support of the Law School's mission. I oversee the development of the School's operating and capital budgets, implement plans for the cost-effective use of existing resources, and identify opportunities for the development of new resources as needed. I provide leadership, oversight, and strategic direction to key strategic initiatives that are top priorities for the Law School and facilitate strategic planning activities, including annual priority setting, strategic plan refreshes, and Law School diversity, equity, and inclusion activities. I oversee the Law School’s data collection, analysis, and reporting needs, including annual ABA and USNWR reporting, and faculty/staff/student climate surveys to support data-driven decision-making across the Law School. I collaborate regularly with other departments at the University including the Office of the Provost, Financial Affairs/Budget, Controller's Office, Facilities Management, Human Resources, Procurement, Risk Management, General Counsel, and Information Technology, ensuring open communication and full support of and compliance with University-wide initiatives, policies, procedures, and protocols.

Created the strategic vision, and led operational and external relationship development strategies to grow revenue, improve efficiency, engage staff, and support the College’s diversity and inclusion initiatives including Title IX compliance. Led business and administrative functions for all teaching hospital locations, achieving a 48% increase in surgical volume, a 23% reduction in purchasing-related expenses, a 29% improvement in point-of-service collections, and providing a 22% increase in funding to support faculty initiatives. Oversaw teaching hospital information technology teams in the development and implementation of a broad portfolio of IT initiatives including the integration of new medical technology with existing information systems resulting in a 23% increase in charge capture, the transition to a new enterprise-wide business solution (ERP), and the launch of the first veterinary telemedicine program in the state of Texas. Selected by the Dean to lead a $150 million capital campaign for the design and construction of a new teaching hospital operation.

Created the operational strategy and led the tactical execution that resulted in the financial turn-around for one of the University of Pennsylvania's most prestigious teaching hospitals - Penn Vet's Ryan Hospital. Managed administrative and financial activities for hospital and outpatient clinic business to achieve an 11% growth in margin over the prior year, while reducing operating expenses during the same period. Oversaw the initiative to develop a homegrown electronic medical record (EMR) system, and integration of new scheduling technology to improve patient throughput. Through collaboration with faculty leadership, placed the teaching hospital on the path to long-term growth and financial stability.

Identified and evaluated more than $150M in global merger and acquisition (M&A) opportunities across four continents. Leveraged a government program to become the first foreign institution to open a full-service branch campus in Hong Kong; obtaining the Education Bureau’s approval in record time to offer undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Secured $10M+ in New Market Tax Credits (NMTC) to support an urban redevelopment project. Created and managed business development strategy to redeploy $65M+ in institutional aid resulting in 6% growth in business over the prior year.

Developed joint venture ASC partnership initiative with a local neurosurgical group; resulting in $9M+ new revenue to the healthcare system.
