Hello! My name is Mark Hicks, and I'm excited to connect with you on LinkedIn. For the past 20 years, I've owned and operated my own woodworking business.I’ve made furniture, designed products, written newsletters, built and taught woodworking courses. And, while I’ve enjoyed working with my customers and students, it’s time for a different challenge.I’ve decided to make a career change and dive headfirst into the world of data analytics and business intelligence. I've always been drawn to solving complex real-world business problems and I know that my analytical skills and attention to detail will serve me well in this new field.To prepare for my transition, I've been studying Google’s Data Analytics Professional Certificate, and I've enjoyed putting so many of my hard earned technical skills into a more formal framework for breaking down and solving problems. I can't wait to combine my business experience with my new skills to make a meaningful impact.When I’m not studying data analytics, volunteering with OpenSGF, or building a chair in my shop, I’m most likely on a river or trail enjoying the outdoors with my family. I'm excited to connect with others in the data analytics community and learn as much as I can from those who have come before me.
