Brought novel arthroscopic device from prototype to first in man case in just over one calendar year. Managed three contract manufacturers, five consulting groups, and over 40 vendors to bring device to market. Implemented regulatory and quality documentation. Defines requirements for optics, electronics, software and machined, molded, and purchased components. Conducted verification and validation testing. Applied for FDA approval within six months of starting. Implemented cost reduction measures and product strategy roadmap.

Acumed is a leading innovative provider of orthopedic implants for the fixation of fractured or mal-aligned bones and the fusion of arthritic joints. Headquartered in Hillsboro, OR they have global distribution and have been discovering, developing, and delivering solutions for surgeons around the world. As the Technical Lead Engineer I performed a hybrid role combining the responsibilities of a Lead Engineer and Strategic / Technical Leader. In this position I created and implemented the product strategy for the Foot & Ankle group and worked closely with the executive team to align the group's goals with the company's. To do this I went into the field and developed relationships with surgeons and sales agents to enhance my understanding of the market and our customer’s. From a technical side I was responsible for assuring new research and development aligned with the strategy and mentored engineers on current development projects for technical successful. I resigned from Acumed in July of 2013 to support my family in the Philadelphia area.

As the Lead Product Engineer it is the responsibility to identify new needs, develop creative and innovative solutions, and bring the product to market. My responsibilities extended into assisting the marketing group to develop new surgeon contacts, train surgeons and sales agents, and create new marketing materials. My designs have been recognized as innovative and creative solutions to our customer's needs.In recognition of my accomplishments and skills I was promoted to Lead Technical Engineer in 2012.
