Experienced Head of Content and Managing Editor with over 30 years of experience with public service media in Japan, Australia and Sweden. In my current role as Managing Editor for SVT News Jämtland, I lead Swedish Television’s regional station in Sweden’s Northwest. Prior to my move to Sweden, I was Content Manager for Audio and Language Content at SBS Australia. My role was to lead the multilingual and multicultural content that catered for, reflected and encouraged audiences to explore the diversity of cultures in Australia and around the world. Day to day this included setting the editorial direction for SBS Radio’s 60+ language programs across AM, FM, digital radio, online, social media and mobile apps - alongside identifying and commissioning new content opportunities and exploring partnerships with stakeholders. I joined SBS as Content Manager in 2007, and have had the privilege to lead the team behind some of Australia's most innovative media content over the last decade, including SBS PopAsia, Mandarin News Australia and SBS' multilingual live coverage of the FIFA World Cups. Most recently the team has been at the forefront of assisting the almost 5 million Australians who speak a language other than English at home navigate the Covid-19 crisis with the SBS Coronavirus portal in 63 languages. Prior to joining SBS, I managed the English language output at the international and multicultural arm of Swedish Broadcasting in Stockholm, building on my early experience in news and current affairs with public and commercial broadcasters in Japan, the UK and Sweden. My first job in media was as a television news reporter - in Japanese - for Asahi Broadcasting Corporation in Japan. I hold an MA from the University of Osaka and an MBA from the Norwegian School of Business, Handelhøgskolan in Olso. 1965年豪州に生まれ、１９８２年に大阪へ移住。1990年大阪大學大學院卒業後、朝日放送報道部の記者として入社。1993年スウエーデンへ移住、スウエーデン公共放送の國際報道部に入社。以來、數多くのテレビとラジオ報道番組を担当。主にニュースの現場へ向かい、取材、リポートをしてきましたが、ひとつのテーマを追う企畫の取材も大好き。２００７年、２５年ぶりにオーストラリアに戾り、SBSラジオ製作部長として入社。2021年、はスウエーデンの公共放送SVTニュースのイエムトランド支局長として入社。Specialties: Multilingual and multicultural media
