The Coshocton County Beacon is a locally owned and operated community newspaper. The slogan is "Shining a Positive Light on Coshocton County". The paper focuses on the positive events and news that happens in Coshocton County. As the owner and publisher I am responsible for advertising sales, editorial content, photography, financial decisions and human resources. It is an enjoyable adventure that allows us our team to serve the community with a passion.

Started this business venture in April, 2008 and published the first edition of The Coshocton County Beacon on May 1, 2008. This has been the greatest challenge of my life! Most days are very enjoyable yet some are fraught with frustration. This is a demanding industry currently and takes 10 to 12 hours per day and 7 days per week.

This free weekly shopper paper served the residents of Coshocton County and was owned by Journal Communications Inc (JRN) until being purchased by the Gannett Company (GCI) in June, 2008.

Worked at several Thomson Newspapers Ohio locations, including; Coshocton, Marion, Lancaster and Portsmouth. Served in a role as an Advertising Consultant in the Chicago Division based in Des Plaines, IL for three years. A tremendously challenging and stimulating position that involved extensive travel (almost every week per year). This role allowed me to provide both Publishers and Advertising Managers / Directors with advice, counsel, ideas for growth and sales force management tips and strategies. Returned to Ohio as the Advertising Director at The Hamilton Journal News for two years. Relocated to Rocky Mount, NC as the Advertising Director of The Rocky Mount Telegram. Returned to Ohio due to family reasons following a three year stint during which I earned my BA from North Carolina Wesleyan College in an adult accelerated degree program.
