Over the past 20 years, Mark has been consulting in the federal government in one way or another across a wide range of topics related to large scale data analytics, cloud technology, machine learning, social media, innovation, virtual worlds, augmented reality, gaming and software engineering. To these types of emerging technology challenges, Mark pulls from his years of application design and architecture to provide the unique perspective of both a visionary and implementer. Mark was a three-time attendee and key contributor to an annual month-long federal government program focused on analyzing hard problems related to then-emerging technology, including social media, augmented reality and virtual worlds. He has been a guest lecturer on the subject of big data and cloud technology at George Mason University and he was an invited panelist at the 2009 GeoINT conference on the subject of virtual worlds.Mark now applies his experience to enhancing data science and large-scale data analytics by leveraging cloud-based architectures to bring on-demand, scalable solutions to users lacking the software development and cloud administration expertise typically needed to operate in environments like Amazon Web Services.Mark is a cofounder of Formidable, LLC, a small technology company focused on applying solid engineering and a broad range of experiences and perspectives to solve large-scale data systems and analytics problems. Formidable wants to change the way businesses and government agencies approach the discovery and analysis of large quantities of data by applying advanced storage, correlation and machine learning techniques.
