Following the acquisition of Polycom by Plantronics (becoming “Poly”) my role was formally extended to include sustainability and ESG alongside global regulatory compliance.Overall responsibility for global regulatory compliance and sustainability within the business, leading and developing a diverse team of professionals. Key Achievements:Formulated the companies first sustainability and climate strategy with minimal incremental budget, combining elements from legacy Plantronics and Polycom. This included performing a materiality review. The overall strategy was presented to the senior executives, subsequently gaining their approval.Restructured the team to align with its broader responsibilities and to improve scalability. Maintaining operational efficiency, established cross functional collaborations across the business.Created and led a cross functional Global Citizenship Committee, comprising representatives from across the business, including environmental stewardship, ethics and diversity & inclusion. This was tied to a formal governance structure which was overseen by the board.Created a new Lifecycle Analysis function within the business to provide a pathway to promoting sustainability in design, and quantifying product carbon footprint, leading to actionable insights.Delivery of the companies first corporate social responsibility report, covering the year 2020. A second report covering 2021 and the final sustainability report coveing 2022 to full GRI standard, boosting shareholder value.Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) disclosure/reporting and Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) membership. Proactive participation in the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI).Developed global environmental and technical legislation compliance strategies in fulfilment of regulatory requirements (including WEEE, RoHS, REACH, Prop65, LVD, EMC, GPSD, RED).

I managed a diverse global team, merging technical & environmental regulatory product compliance with Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.Key Achievements:Drove process elimination, simplification and automation initiatives across the department, enhancing productivity, quality and reducing operational costs. Continued TCO certification of headset products.Developed and deployed across the business an EU Declarations of Conformity database, facilitating automation of updates, saving significant cost and eliminating the need for additional headcount.Restructured and developed the team, creating the first global regulatory compliance function in the company including technical and environmental compliance.
