Core areas of expertise include assessing the validity of claims given a research project's data collection methods; assessing the type of statistics that are appropriate given a project's design; and assessing the extent to which a project's findings can generalize to other settings.

Directs Tasks 1 and 2 of the Education Statistics Services Institute Network (ESSIN); ESSIN is a series of contracts that support the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), U.S. Department of Education; Tasks 1 and 2 provide various statistical support services to NCES in the areas of publication review, data disclosure, and special.

Led implementation of two nationally representative surveys of school districts on the impact of federal stimulus spending and national reform initiatives on district operations; drew sample; produced analyses using complex samples module in SPSS; assisted with the interpretation of findings for policy audiences. Contributed to evaluations of after-school.

Assisted on two research projects over five years; managed participant response databases; administered surveys; interpreted findings. Developed and completed a dissertation study that collected original, longitudinal data from over 100 early-career teachers and 250 of their school-based colleagues.Worked with practicing teacher candidates as a course.
