I joined Cargill as a Project manager based at Hereford. Project sites were within 40 miles of the Hereford site. Following a merger to create Avara foods Ltd. The scope of my role changed allowing me to work from home with project sites nationally.Areas covered: - Breeder Rearing, Breeder (Laying) Farm sites, Hatcheries, Feed Mills, Broiler Farm sites, Associated Warehouses, Offices, Welfare facilities, A farm shop and onsite domestic dwellings. Projects of Note: - Farm Shop: - Extension to building requiring planning permission, comprising a new office and meeting room, toilet facilities and a storage area to keep refrigerated vaccines.Rearing Sites redevelopment: - Several sites were repurposed / redeveloped to support the rearing of poultry for breeding. Requiring new utility supplies, new drainage schemes, security fencing with CCTV, biosecurity, welfare, office, and storage associated with the bird housing requirements.Domestic dwellings: - Properties improved with thermal insulation, replacement glazing, redecoration, garden fencing, drainage repairs and landscaping. Hatchery New Build design to fund application submission: - A green field site. Feed Mill Overhaul: - Cost options for redevelopment to gain funding. The application was signed off covering a major overhaul considering critical machine replacements, grain silos and bins, machine and conveyance overhauls, SCADA, safety features with suppression systems, monitoring systems and explosion vents to comply with DSEAR. With the purpose of creating a safe, reliable, sustained delivery. This included welfare and office facilities upgrades.Other miscellaneous overhaul and operational plant replacements / improvement projects.Responsibilities: -• Design schemes and AutoCAD drawings to validate options• Coordinate fixed wire testing and any rectification works• Ensure fire risk assessments are in place and recommendations undertaken
