Provide direct leadership over all aspects of the Jessie Ball duPont Center’s strategy and operations (aka, The Jessie). Work closely with the Fund’s CEO and Board of Directors on financial performance, reporting, planning, and forecasting. Manage five full-time staff, multiple vendors, and contracts. Regularly engage with leadership at 27 tenant organizations to ensure The Jessie’s state-of-the-art working environment continues to meet their needs. Develop strategic partnerships and programming to deepen public connections to the nonprofit sector and advance the Fund’s equity and placemaking goals.As a senior program officer since 2013, I work with grantees in rural Virginia and Jacksonville to improve outcomes for people in need, increase opportunities for youth, and ensure each region becomes more resilient, while seeking to provide equitable opportunities for all residents. Researched, developed, and managed a climate change initiative for the Fund’s higher education portfolio to meet the needs of institutions that signed the President’s Climate Leadership Commitment (2013-18).

Consulted with Arthur Vining Davis Foundations on updates to an aging technology infrastructure by: conducting a full technology audit, developing a comprehensive action plan and assisting with selection of technology solutions. These efforts are aimed at increasing the organizational capacity of The Foundations by improving internal business processes and external communications with their stakeholders.Currently consulting with the Foundations to assist with maintaining, updating and configuring its Fluxx grantmaking solution.

Provided transformational leadership in the foundation’s operations through improvements its core business systems and databases. Provided design support for external communications. Conducted research and prepared presentations at the direction of leadership to advance both the foundation and individual donor’s priorities and goals.

Led the implementation of core business systems at a startup family foundation for its operations, including an online grantmaking platform. Conducted research on local public education systems so the family could make informed partnership and funding decisions. Helped develop the foundation’s first public education focused initiative. Conducted site visits, evaluated, and monitored proposals.

Created, prepared, and delivered all web/print design projects for clients at a small upstart advertising agency in Jacksonville, Florida. Managed a staff of one part-time employee and 1-2 interns each semester. In addition to these major duties, I wrote and recorded a number of radio commercials and jingles for our clients. Major projects included the development of Jaxbars.com, Best4Jax.com, and initial ideas for The Buzz magazine.
