In my role as an US Army Recruiter I contact, interview, and advise civilian personnel to obtain qualified applicants for enlistment into the Army. I contact representatives of schools, public officials, personnel managers and parents of prospective applicants to present the Army as an employment and career opportunity. I distribute and display recruiting publicity material and establish liaison with local radio, television, and newspaper agencies. I interview and counsel prospective enlistees and discuss individual aims and goals to include personal aptitudes and training opportunities. In the course of these duties I gather individual data and prepare forms and documents related to the enlistment process. I also arrange for transportation, meals, and lodging for applicants where required. I maintain prospect card files, school program folders, using an automated applicant and candidate tracking system.

The National Guard Readiness Non-commissioned Officer is responsible for supervising the successful accomplishment of the Commander's mobilization readiness objectives; anticipates and recommends solutions to needs of the unit in all aspects of unit readiness; stays involved in the day to day supervision of training management, mobilization planning, supply, maintenance, pay and personnel functions relating to the welfare of the Soldiers and mission capability; acts as the commander's day to day representative and spokesman in the daily operations of the unit and ensures the highest readiness status of the unit; supervises 3 full time staff and 135 Reserve Soldiers. Acts as the facility manager responsible for the maintenance, environmental compliance, safety and all OSHA requirements of the National Guard Armory valued at 2.5 million dollars

Manages the training, health and welfare of personnel and their families during deployments; teaches, coaches and mentors junior managers to be successful in the daily training of their Soldiers. Accountable for the effective oversight and execution of EO policy enforcement, training and guidance; responsible for the accurate reporting of trends analysis as it pertains to discrimination, and fair and equitable treatment of others throughout the platoon. As a Platoon Sergeant of an M2A3 Bradley Fighting Vehicle Equipped Mechanized Infantry Platoon; responsible for the health, welfare, counseling, and training of 42 Soldiers and the professional development of 10 Non-Commissioned Officers; supervises the maintenance and the accountability of four M2A3 Bradley Fighting Vehicles, sensitive items and MTOE equipment valued in excess of 10 million dollars.

Police officers protect lives and property by enforcing federal laws, state laws and city ordinances. They patrol the areas they are assigned, respond to 911 calls, make arrests, issue citations, and testify in court cases. Police officers are trained in community policing policies and work closely with neighborhoods to determine trends in criminal activities. At times they provide first aid to someone involved in a traffic accident or injured in a domestic dispute until paramedics arrive. Much of their time is divided between patrolling, writing reports, and filling out forms

Works closely with the Company commander to establish training schedules and evaluate the combat readiness of the platoon and its members. The platoon commander oversees all training conducted by the platoon sergeant. In addition to ensuring that the troops in the platoon are proficient in operating the various weapons and other equipment assigned to them, the platoon commander is responsible for training them to fight effectively as a team. Platoon commanders in the military invariably become role models for the young men and women under their command helping them to identify and to develop their strengths and overcome their weaknesses. They also help their subordinates deal with the various training and career opportunities available in the Marine Corps. Is accountable for the maintenance and the accountability of four LAV-25 combat fighting vehicles and sensitive items and equipment valued in excess of 6 million dollars.
