I maintain the role of lead network engineer with a route/switch (EIGRP, VRF), Cisco wireless, NAC, and backup on Cisco ASA firewall, Procera bandwidth shaper, and ISE administration.

-Configured, installed, and deployed the Nagios XI network monitoring system for our engineering departments to replace our outdated monitoring system. -Responsible for maintaining the Cisco Router, Switch, WLC, ASA, IPCAM, AP, ACS, Microsoft DHCP, and KIWI Syslog systems. -Utilized various tools to troubleshoot data, telephony, and fiber connections on campus. -Designed, planned, and implemented large and small wired/wireless network deployments around campus. -Assisted coworkers in multiple departments with many issues in and out of my assigned duties. -Responsible for application server on both Linux and Windows for networking related applications. -Interfaced with vendors from various fields and scope for new technology or maintenance on current technology. -Maintained documentation and organized policies and procedures for the immediate department. -Designed and began implementation of the data, telephony, and CATV network for the 2016 Vice Presidential Debate on Campus before taking the position at VCCS. -Worked with several vendors to provide the new internet service to campus via an RFP. -Converted the routing environment from policy-based routing to newer protocols.

In July of 2010 Jet Broadband was purchased by Shentel and this position was transferred to another department and new duties were assigned at that time based on previous performance and peer recommendations. -Lead role on many projects as assigned. -Right after the Shentel acquisition I began converting 6 standalone headend sites to remotely managed IP Hub sites. -Maintained those six remote IP hub sites and data/video network equipment for all south eastern operations. -Maintained a large customer network with voice, data, and video traffic for several thousand customers. -Performed commercial Fiber Optic, Ethernet, and RF installations. -Took part in the on-call schedule and was a consistent backup technician for IP related issues. -POC for multiple departments. -Wrote methods of procedure (MoPs) and change requests (CR) for group projects that I was in charge of. -Designed network diagrams for projects either in charge of or assisted on. -Installed and configured (or assisted in configuration of) Cisco switches, routers, DWDM ONS network devices as well as Telco Systems ISP grade equipment in multiple deployment scenarios. -Maintained with one other technician a secured remote access windows server that provided out-of-band management to several key devices within the master headend.

-Assisted in the maintenance of six stand-alone head ends and cable plants in five counties covering several hundred subscribers. -Installing cable TV and data services for residential and commercial sites daily. -Worked on the 2009 Analog to Digital OTA (over the air) conversion for all 6 headend facilities serviced out of the local office. -Assisted network operations with maintaining a Cisco network with GRE and later IPSEC site-to-site VPN tunnels as well as the internet service and switching/wireless network at Fort Pickett Billeting offices for the VA National Guard.
