I received my BA in Anthropology with a minor in Liberal arts from the University of Alabama. I am multilingual: I speak English, Japanese, and Thai. I was in the Accelerated Master's Program and I completed the first year of my MA during my senior year. In addition to this, I have participated in undergraduate and graduate research for the past four years spanning from areas of biolinguistics, environmental conservation, and maternity-infant health. I have developed research analytic skills along with collaboration skills by working on local community health collaboratives in West Alabama. I am familiar with a variety of research analytic programs such as SPSS and HRV software. I have developed skills necessary to handle and obtain confidential information with human subjects while also maintaining a positive rapport with the participants. These research expereinces have also provided me with opportunities to contribute to peer reviewed article publications as an undergraduate.I have participated in a research study abroad in Belize where I developed skills and research technics for environmental conservation. In addition to this I also served as a co-curator for a museum at The University of Alabama examining the racial history of the institutions. I was tasked with handling delicate original artifacts from the founding of the institution. This experience required me to further develop my problem solving skills as I had to utilize limited resources during this process. I have achieved these skills while also working full time, and being financial independent due to my status as a first generation college student. The past four years have provided me the time to develop interpersonal communication skills, critical thinking skills, and problem solving skills while maintaining composure and positive rapports. Key qualities that contributed to my work were determination, patience, collaboration, and ethical practice.
