I hold a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics, a Master of Science in Engineering Physics with a specialization in Photonics, and a PhD in Physics with a focus on clinical studies utilizing diffuse optics.During my PhD, I developed technical expertise in building and designing devices within the European project LUCA. I also participated in a clinical study in collaboration with the San Raffaele hospital, where I developed my skills in data analysis and interpretation.As a post-doctoral researcher, I managed the design and development of a hybrid diffuse optical device for CE marking within the funded European project VASCOVID. In addition, I contributed to the data analysis and interpretation of data collected in the HEMOCOVID multi-center clinical trial and sister project of VASCOVID.In addition, I have programming knowledge in MATLAB, python and R, as well as basic statistics and machine learning skills. Furthermore, I have participated in numerous outreach events and supervised students, demonstrating my passion for science education and mentoring. I have also contributed to the Clara presents series (available on youtube), sharing my research with a broader audience.Overall, my educational and professional background has provided me with a solid foundation in physics, engineering, clinical research, and data analysis. PhD student in PhysicsField of Biomedical Optics.Thesis title: "Clinical Time-resolved spectroscopy"Supported by Horizon 2020 European project: Laser and Ultrasound Co-Analyzer (LUCA-project).- During my PhD, I worked on the LUCA device built within the European project Horizon 2020 LUCA, which involved industrial and clinical partners beyond academia. I contributed to the design and development of the time-resolved spectroscopy module for characterizing thyroids' hemoglobin, lipid, collagen, and water content. I have also contributed to the data analysis by employing homogeneous models and exploring a pipeline to improve the extraction of optical properties and concentration of chromophores using more complex bilayer models in such absorbing media as the thyroid.- In addition to my technical work, I collaborated with the San Raffaele hospital to explore the application of time-resolved spectroscopy in the stroke unit on more than 200 patients and healthy subjects. I was in charge of exploratory data analysis and I contributed to statistical analysis.Overall, my PhD work provided me with a strong foundation in device design, data analysis, and clinical research. This experience has equipped me with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with teams from diverse backgrounds.
