I am a post-doctoral fellow supported by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship. My current research project focuses on developing a machine learning pipeline to improve the prognostic value of vascular occlusion tests combined with diffuse optics in the intensive care setting. - My main goal is to bridge the gap between technical language and clinical partners to ensure effective communication and understanding of the research. I collaborate closely with clinicians and medical professionals to translate technical results into clinically relevant information that can be used to improve patient outcomes.- Data management is a critical aspect of my work, and I am experienced in handling and analyzing large datasets. I use a variety of tools and techniques to ensure the accuracy and reliability of my data, including statistical analysis and data visualization.

As a postdoctoral researcher, I have managed the design and development of a hybrid diffuse optical device. My responsabilities have included:- leading the technical team in medical device design, device testing, and documentation for clinical validation readiness. I have also coordinated with all project partners and organized weekly technical meetings.- Data management, including managing and analyzing large datasets, ensuring data quality and integrity, and creating data management plans for research projects. I have experience in the use of REDcap to manage the datasets.In addition, I have been:- exposed to regulatory processes, focusing on the European Union Medical Device Regulation (MDR 2017/745), which has given me an understanding of necessary standards in the field of medical device manufacturing. - organized and participated in outreach events to share my research with the public and inspire the next generation of scientists and I have been following the work of master's students and mentoring them in their research projects.- participated in multiple conferences both in Europe and USA to communicate our findings and results to a wider audience. - participated in courses for scientific project management and have applied the learned tools to my day-to-day work. This has helped me develop a critical analysis of my work and improve my overall project management skills- contributed to the data analysis and interpretation of HEMOCOVID data, a world-wide multi-center clinical trial and sister project of VASCOVID.

- As a research fellow and postdoc, I continued my work in the fNIRS lab, focusing on improving data analysis for time-resolved spectroscopy.- In addition to my research, I also had the opportunity to teach physics courses to engineering students, strengthening my teaching and communication skills and sharing my knowledge and passion for the subject with the next generation of scientists and engineers. Through my teaching experience, I have developed the ability to communicate complex concepts in a clear and concise manner, and I am skilled in adapting my teaching style to meet the needs of diverse audiences.

PhD student in PhysicsField of Biomedical Optics.Thesis title: "Clinical Time-resolved spectroscopy"Supported by Horizon 2020 European project: Laser and Ultrasound Co-Analyzer (LUCA-project).- During my PhD, I worked on the LUCA device built within the European project Horizon 2020 LUCA, which involved industrial and clinical partners beyond academia. I contributed to the design and development of the time-resolved spectroscopy module for characterizing thyroids' hemoglobin, lipid, collagen, and water content. I have also contributed to the data analysis by employing homogeneous models and exploring a pipeline to improve the extraction of optical properties and concentration of chromophores using more complex bilayer models in such absorbing media as the thyroid.- In addition to my technical work, I collaborated with the San Raffaele hospital to explore the application of time-resolved spectroscopy in the stroke unit on more than 200 patients and healthy subjects. I was in charge of exploratory data analysis and I contributed to statistical analysis.Overall, my PhD work provided me with a strong foundation in device design, data analysis, and clinical research. This experience has equipped me with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with teams from diverse backgrounds.
