I currently work in all three areas of the business, being a waitress, barista and bartender. My main day-to-day tasks include providing food and beverages, interacting with the public and general up keep of my work area. Beyond this I am trusted with additional responsibilities such as organising and running large party groups/events and managing the organisation of beverage stock and deliveries.I thoroughly enjoy the customer interaction aspect of this job and find pleasure in helping others, which usually involves quick problem solving and team communication.

This role was split between morning and afternoon tasks. In the morning I would organise and clean rooms which had guests staying overnight, as well as keep the common areas of the castle clean. Time permitting, I would aim to prepare and organise my section of the castle for a smooth transition after lunch. In the afternoon I would work as a team to turnover rooms in which guests had departed, ready for newly arriving guests.This required a fast pace and constant communication with my team members. I was fortunate in this role as to be trusted with communicating my teams progress back to head office whilst working.

In this role, I mainly travelled across Scotland to various show grounds where I set up and managed a small coffee trailer. I was in charge of making and serving various coffee types as well as working the cash register. This role required me to work as part of and lead a small team of young people to ensure a smooth and effective service. I was required to think projectively and solve problems quickly. On occasion this role required me to work as a waitress for social events such as weddings and balls. This required a more strict discipline and a high attention to detail whilst working with others. This ensured a smooth and pleasurable time for those attending the events.

I mainly worked the cash register, arranging customers payments, in a small coffee trailer at various show-grounds across Scotland. I learnt how to work a coffee machine and set up the trailer as well as close up at the end of my shift.
