• Solely responsible for designing and delivering a new infrastructure for the DriveTech division to allow them to be self-sufficient, become more agile in delivering services to their customers and to achieve and maintain various essential ISO accreditations• Completed full migration or user accounts, devices, data and all services to the new infrastructure with minimum disruption. The new infrastructure consisted of a hybrid of on-premises, Office 365, Microsoft Azure for customer-facing web services and hosted Avaya IP Office telephony• Created a library of documentation covering all implemented services and completed full training to existing IT support staff• Flexibly operated as Architect, Project Manager, Technical delivery, budget holder and sourced and managed relationships with various providers in this challenging and very rewarding role• Completed the high and low level architectural design of a complete infrastructure, costed to budget and sought to gain approval at board level. Created and successfully ran a project plan, with appropriate reporting to the board, using a rapid process of migration involving separate threads of migration activity; Data, Application, User accounts and Device. • Running the installation and configuration of all networking, FortiGate firewall and FortiAnalyzer, physical and virtual infrastructure, Exchange hybrid with Office 365, Mimecast, Azure integration and rapid workstation deployment, all to vendor best practices. This included sign-off from a third party after carrying out penetration testing.• Delivering and utilising Microsoft SQL Always On for high availability, as well as implementing TDE (encryption) which served as an important part of compliance accreditation.• Built and sustained long-term relationships with vendors for execution of WAN connectivity and Avaya IPO (hosted) telephony.• Trained existing IT support staff on the new environment and completed all documentation and handover.
