Responsible for Schema related teams in the Customer Data Platform

Lead for the team responsible for the ingestion and processing of web-activity and event data at HubSpot.

Hands-on architect responsible for overall architecture and design of the distributed Attivio enterprise search platform. Attivio is a wide-ranging Java-based platform that runs on a single laptop, in the cloud, and on large clusters. Technologies include HBase, HDFS, Yarn, Slider, Twill (where I am a committer), Zookeeper, Curator, Kafka, Docker, mvn, git, Cassandra, AWS S3 and SQS.Key accomplishments include:* Migrated Attivio platform from proprietary cluster system to a Hadoop-based system whereindexing services run in Yarn* Delivered discovery-based services with highly pluggable API which decouples clients andservice providers running anywhere in the system via ZooKeeper. Clients use dynamic Javaproxies to connect to remote services, with automatic failover and load balancing.Architected flexible storage backend which allows our APIs to store data in Hbase or a localdatabase. This flexibility is key to the product being able to run in a single container oracross a large cluster.* Provides input to and assistance in product planning, release planning, go-to-market strategy,staffing concerns, and pre and post sales engagements. Fosters key customer relationships,working directly with management, business, and technology stakeholders.

During my short time at GetConnected, worked on designing jdbc-based shard layer and custom Hibernate dialect for Enterprise DB.

• Group Leader for the Chemical Biology platform. Responsible for team recruitment, hiring decisions, project planning, system architecture, and presentations to oversight committee, user community, and technical audiences in addition to active development across all aspects of the public website (ChemBank (http://chembank.broad.mit.edu). • The informatics platform software uses a typical J2EE application stack with Tomcat as the application server, using the Stripes and Struts (legacy) MVC frameworks, Hibernate for database access and Spring for light-weight transaction management and services. Responsible for small-molecule search and integration with Daylight cheminformatics toolkit and database cartridge. Interfaced with Computational Science team concerning data analysis requirements and future direction. Our development process includes standard agile techniques such as continuous builds, stand-up meetings, and iterative, test-driven development. • Domain objects are designed in UML and annotated using standard Java Persistence API annotations and Hibernate extensions.• Key developer of a biological protocol/experiment design tool intended as a front end for a custom High Throughput Screen automation system. Written in C#.

Developed firmware software in C for TVGuide On Screen's series of embedded TV guide products. While there also created a C++ like string library for the guide which eliminated memory leaks and duplication of string manipulation code. Wrote a complete simulator of screen manipulation commands (C#).On the server-side of the product worked on Ad placement, scheduling, and configuration algorithms (C++).

• Ab Initio Software is a successful ETL company providing parallel business data processing and data warehouse software. • Team leader for all SAS related development and integration. Designed and developed the Ab Initio SAS Analyzer ™ product. The SAS Analyzer (written in C++) automatically runs SAS programs in parallel by modeling the program and rewriting a parallel version of it. This process can provide a scalable improvement in SAS program performance. Developed automated test applications.• Member of database integration team. Responsible for integration of DB2 UDB database using ODBC/CLI, with Ab Initio’s Co>Operating System ™.• Technical and engineering support during numerous sales calls, presentations, long and short-term consulting engagements for data warehousing projects and customer evaluations.• Implementation of several parsers (using yacc/flex) including those for SAS and SQL.• Developed 2-D graphing applet in Java.

• Technical team leader for systems design of custom data warehousing system for AT&T’s long distance business (Greyhound project).• Technical support for numerous consulting engagements.• Designed and developed multi-dimensional data visualization software in C++ and integrated it with the SAS system.

• Manager in HPC group. Team was responsible for evaluation and development of analytic software. Developed parallel analytic software (neural networks and genetic algorithms) for the CM5 parallel computer.• Developed multi-dimensional data visualization software.• Built analytic models (neural network and logistic regression) for various customers
