I am responsible for leading 80 staff who deliver learning and adventure for 10,000 young people per year.My main responsibility involves creating tactics to inform the delivery of our Strategic Frameworks. These include 'Each Adventure a New Beginning' and 'The Mountain's are Calling (attached below).I divide my role in to 4 areas: People, Strategy/Tactics, Safety and Resources. Alongside these areas I always seek to include an additional vital ingredient - Fun!Over the past few years, I have been instrumental in delivering a number of key projects relating to the areas above. These reflect my commitment to delivering our strategy.Projects include:* Management restructure designed to increase the impact of our work on young people.* £3.6 million redevelopment of centre infrastructure providing distinct 'zones' to enhance young people's learning.* Embedding a 'Working in Partnership' process in to our delivery that offers 6 distinct areas designed to increase development for young people and promote CPD for visiting staff and Outward Bound staff.* Introducing Employability to Outward Bound courses that makes better use of our equipment stores for learning - incorporating commercial awareness, planning/organising and time management.* Establishing and Chairing the Trustwide Technical Group. This is made up of technical experts from inside and outside of the Trust to give advice to Heads of Centre's on matters relating to land based adventurous activity. Show less -
