My key role while serving onboard include standing as Quartermaster of the Watch during clandestine operations supporting and providing information vital to national security. Other secondary but very important roles include operational planning, maintaining and repairing various navigation equipment (radar, inertial navigation systems, GPS receivers, navigation lighting), and also repairing shipboard interior communications systems.Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Detachment San Diego Combat Electronics Shop 67(Sep 2021-Present) San Diego, CAWhile maintaining my skills as a navigation electronics technician, I applied the knowledge and experiences obtained while serving onboard a submarine to the industrial shipyard environment. While serving here, my role grew more from a straightforward navigation electronics technician to an electromechanical repair technician that covers not only navigation equipment, but various combat-related electronics systems such as sonar, radio, and associated IT equipment. While providing my skillsets in this capacity I was sent to training to receive the certifications that I actively have. I was also selected to assist the base security and underwent light police academy training to become a member of the Auxiliary Security Force.
