1st day in my new role. Strange to start a new role and straight into work from home but we are living in strange times. After 5 years with Probus, European Captive of Hertz it was time for a new challenge. In my time with Probus I have learned much about car hire and its specific challenges which will helped me to develop my skills through new challenges. Whilst I am embracing the new challenges and opportunities I will encounter through my new role and I am looking forward to the future I wish my friends and colleagues in Probus and Hertz Group best fortune in what are extremely difficult times for the entire travel related industry for the near future.

Claims handling for UK was initially outsourced and I managed a project to deal with the in-source of claims for handling in Dublin. Development and implementation of Claims Policies and Procedures along with recruitment of team members with growth in Claims Team from 3 Handlers to 12 Handlers.

• Maintain an allocation of personal injury files where quantum was in excess of IR£100,000• Report to management and where applicable, reinsurer in relation to progress of files• Presentation to reinsurer annually in relation to own files• Lead a team of 4 staff in processing motor claims with a personal injury element where quantum exceeds IR£30,000• Act as a technical referral point for claims staff in the Cavan office• Attend at High Court in relation to own files and settlement discussions in Eastern, Midland and Northern Circuits on all company files are required• Liase with appointed Solicitors in ensuring most economic settlement is obtained and provide direction in appointment of external experts and Counsel• Ensure that appropriate reserves are maintained upon all team members file

• Act as a technical referral and training point within team• Act as a mentor to specified Claim Handler to develop technical expertise• Police, audit and track third party cases passed out to a claims negotiator for handling• Monthly review of reports submitted by Policyholders with delegated claim handling authority. Identify and address immediately any variance from claim handling agreement Report upon variance or, immediately refer to Technical Claims Supervisor dependant upon significance• Provide monthly report to Technical Claims Supervisor on training provided to team and assessment of urgent training requirements with plan for implementation• Review all Solicitors costs schedules and approve or provide guidance
