Advanced coalition building and grassroots efforts, launched new community relationships, and helped grow a competitive federal grant enabling the expansion of public school options serving students & families of color. • Executed strategy to deliver annual $300M+ in appropriations for Charter Schools Program's Replication and Expansion competitive grant program through Congressional outreach for KIPP and partner high schools. Trained 100+ school leaders to meet with Members of Congress and advocate for joint policy priorities. • Spearheaded KIPP's entrance into immigration advocacy—learning from policy experts, advising national board of directors, preparing KIPP alumni to share testimonies on Capitol Hill, and building a coalition of 100+ K-16 partners to sign a letter delivered to President and Congressional leaders (BRIDGE Act).• Established a growing set of partnerships with civil rights organizations by individual outreach, coordinating introductory meetings with CEOs, pioneering a scholarship opportunity for alumni, and leading annual delegations of school leaders and alumni to UnidosUS, NAACP, LULAC, and National Urban league summer conferences.• Facilitated college partner input into KIPP higher education policy agenda by leading sessions on Federal Work Study program with presidents of HBCU, ivy league colleges, and public institutions. • Managed Congressional internship program for 8 KIPP alumni, providing opportunities to gain career experience in policy areas of interest, build sustained relationships, and share their voices on Capitol Hill.

Spearheaded program management for charitable giving, funding of schools, corporate giving, and government affairs. Identified key public policy issues, developed strategies to address issues, and executed the program in support of overall business goals. • Led transformation of $1M K-12 philanthropic programs, resulting in 10X improvement in annual student reach while maintaining flat annual spend.• Grew PAC contributor base by 117% in 8 months by developing and delivering a robust CEO-led solicitation campaign, a new internal website, and pitch presentations. • Served on Diversity and Inclusion Council and delivered implicit bias training for public affairs and communications team.

Assisted in the cultivation of deeper more trustworthy relationships between the corporation and state and local elected officials in various geographies, bolstering brand visibility and confidence, and community impact. • Cultivated relationships with 15 governors and 20 mayors across footprint to enable advocacy support on vital regulatory priorities such as the Universal Service Fund and ensure smooth transition after divestiture of Chicago market in 2013.

Played key role in defining and communicating INCS and related policies while handling time-sensitive policy issues. • Partnered with coalition responsible for passing SB612, doubling the number of charter public schools accessible to underserved families across the State of Illinois.• Advised member schools on identifying and implementing solutions that resolved local operational challenges (i.e. budget transparency, special education service delivery, etc.) and strengthened the relationship with district authorizer (Chicago Public Schools).

Liaised with government and community partners to advance public education policy priorities. • Co-developed grassroots training program that trained 300+ parents and teachers in front-line engagement with elected officials at local, state, and federal levels.

• Supervised 15 staff members for four years as a federal work study recipient and spearheaded the re-design of the after school program to strengthen extracurricular offerings for 75 youth.

• Contributed written content for the development of the IOP youth voter's guide designed to increase civic engagement; managed onsite logistical support during the 2004 Democratic National Convention.

• Conducted phone banking in English and Spanish to drive GOTV efforts in precinct and co-led recruitment of volunteers from Loyola University's Latin American Student Organization (LASO).
