Worked with small chemical firm in product development and test method development. Also directed patent application process for the company, coordinated patent-related work with attorneys and external analytical laboratories.

Developed aqueous and solvent-borne rubber-to-metal adhesives for automotive applications. Reformulated CHEMLOK adhesives to comply with changing VOC regulations. Applied surface chemistry techniques to investigate bond failure (ESCA/XPS, ISS, mass spectroscopy, SEM/EDX, microscopy). Worked with internal and external customers to characterize rubber-to-metal bonding. Conducted on-site customer visits to investigate incidents of product failure.
