Director Of Copy
CurrentFrom day one, I hit the ground running, making an impact not only on the creative department, but also on the whole organization through:-Working closely with the Director of Project Management and other key leadership to overhaul internal agency processes for greater efficiency and clarity of roles following the RACI model.-Working with the Director of Strategy to implement a one-page creative brief that is centered on an insight-driven SMIT (we're not selling x, we're selling y).-Bridging cross-functional divides to ensure that the creative team is actively contributing to CRM and CRO efforts. -Planning and leading, along with the Creative Director and Director of Design, team building retreats for creative department.-Developing the agency's first proofreader role, including being highly-involved in all steps within the search and hiring process, as well as working closely with the Director of Project Management to develop a proofreading workflow process and sell it in across the agency prior to the new proofreader's arrival.-Mentoring other writers to help further develop their talent.-Partnering with and providing creative direction to other writers as we develop concepts that remain on-strategy while eliciting an emotional response from audiences (I may have made the client cry in at least one creative presentation).-Acting as agency producer for video production on our more complex and nuanced video concepts (including managing the bid process and discovery calls through award and production) while also being a key creative rep for communicating the overall creative vision to our production partners.-Maintaining full visibility into all writers' project and PTO schedules (both on-staff and freelance) to ensure workload balance and coverage at all times.-Continuing to carry my own writing workload, including most of the Brand Platform copy work being done at the agency plus concept development and copywriting across an array of deliverables.
