I've always been the kid that's more interested in going to the zoo than hanging out with friends or playing video games. I'm fascinated by animals and biology and when I was younger, becoming a veterinarian was always in the back of my mind. I can't imagine my life without my dogs, and when my Aussie/Heeler gave birth to her first litter, I knew for sure what I wanted to do when I grew up. Nothing had ever caught my attention like the miracle of animal life. In school, I've always excelled in science and math. I passed college biology with straight A's as a sophomore in high school. My current favorite class is Medical Anatomy and Physiology, where the teacher has to repeatedly remind me that we are studying humans. When I learned about my school's internship program, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to spend time with a veterinarian. During my time as an intern at Nebo Animal Clinic, my love for animals and medicine has only grown as I've been able to assist in animal healthcare. I have applied and been accepted into Utah State University with an awesome scholarship, where I plan to major in Bioveterinary Science. USU has the only veterinary medicine school in the state, and I hope to be accepted in a few years. My dream is to study exotics and become a vet in a zoo somewhere, but I've also noticed a lack of emergency animal hospitals in Utah County. Wherever I end up, I know I'll be happy as long as I am caring for animals and helping make the world just a little bit better for our non-human friends.
