Development and refining of the integrated asset model of Al-Shaheen field. Streamlined the process for production optimization and forecasting using GAP model using automation+visualization framework developed while in Maersk Oil. Reliable daily optimization scenarios, forecasts and debottlenecking studies can now be delivered quickly, since GAP model is continuously kept 'alive'.Coordination of multiple technology trials and studies: Ledaflow modelling to mitigate terrain slugging, jet pumps, automatic choke control.

* Designed and programmed full scale Digital Oilfield system for a large Middle East field with >300 wells. Achieved a sustained gain in excess of >5,000 bopd and freed > 40% of engineer's time spent in data collection and analysis, to focus on adding real value. Creating and updating well + surface models, advanced exception based surveillance, virtual metering, integrated production optimization, well test validation, and workflow automation.* Developed 1D mechanical earth model for two large reservoirs. Improved understanding resulted in safeguarding >20MMstb reserves at risk of early water breakthrough.* Wrote subsurface guideline for management of water injectors in Qatar business unit. Approached well management using detailed operating enveloped. Standardization effort resulted in sustained gain of 100Mbwpd with reduced perceived safety or economic risk.* Standardized well integrity management by developing surveillance and workflow management software conjointly with Babelfish company. Continued use for >4 years, providing solid, auditable framework for managing integrity issues, driven by a well failure model.* Identified multiple integrity issues in water injectors that eventually developed into a workover campaign. Prepared workover prognosis for several wells.* General petroleum engineer tasks: Well & pattern reviews, opportunity maturation, forecasting, waterflood management, surveillance, wellwork prognosis, etc.

* Wellsite drilling engineer assisting drilling supervisor offshore for the execution of multiple workovers and drilling of new wells. Drilling calculations, supervision and reporting.* Fred 20% of engineers time offshore by developing simple drilling logistics software that was used for subsequent 6 years in multiple business units.

Developed new techniques for establishing inter-well diffusivity/permeability using production history, data mining, and pressure transient analysis. Study was well received by Nexen, service companies and university, who continued research on techniques that could "save billions of dollars by avoiding unnecessary infill drilling" - best thesis prize awarded by OPC company.

Reviewed operating envelopes of wells and process facilities in 100 Mbopd field to ensure control system is properly configured before new facilities commissioning. Implemented operating envelopes into exception based surveillance system using PI Osisoft. Work managed to save several days of downtime during plant startup and rationalized more than 20 alarms in the control system.
