At Data I/O I have been responsible for identification and implementation of process improvements to create better work environments and reduce overall costs. By leveraging Lean Six Sigma tools, I assist several departments reduce unnecessary rework and generate better communication. I am also responsible for the development and managing of company metrics to effectively highlight which areas need attention.

At Synsor, I was on a team that developed custom fixtures for clients using Solidworks Design for companies like Starbucks and MOD Pizza among others. Leveraging lean tactics, I helped eliminate over $100,000 per year spent in managing unnecessary errors. Utilizing these same tactics, I was able to help reduce our team of 5 employees to 2 with the same volume of workload.

Burn Design Labs strives to be one of the leading researchers and manufacturers of improved cookstoves in the world. Burn's manufacturing currently resides in Nairobi, Kenya while their testing, research and development is on Vashon Island, WA. I began work at Burn Design Labs immediately on one of Burn's most challenging stoves. I immersed myself in mastering combustion, designing with sheet metal, building my prototype stoves in our shop and more. The complex nature of the stove required strategic project management to effectively develop a functioning product within a deadline. After only six months, I created one of the better performing forced draft stoves in the world. Burn is continuing to push development of the stove to truly delve deeper into the capabilities of a forced draft stove to create an irresistible product for the people of Kenya.

As an employee of a 10-man company, my roles were diverse. My typical day included: mechanical and electrical design, drafting, conducting research and development, PCB layout, auditing, assembly and repair of units.
