My current role is one that has provided me with significant opportunity to develop my existing skillset in a more senior managerial role, whilst also enabling me to build a thorough knowledge of the bus, coach & commercial automotive industry and obtain professional C (HGV Class 2) and D (Bus) driving licences.Initially employed to bring the companies online presence up to speed and assist in the sale of vehicles – my responsibilities have grown exponentially in line with my understanding of the organisation, its customers and the highly specialized market in which it operates. As such my current focus is split between various aspects of the business operation.Working within a small team and in close co-operation with both the dealership principal and third party subcontractors I have played a key role in the development and bringing to market of a new products in order to provide our customers with a wide range of customisable vehicles to suit differing requirements and to contribute towards the overall business objective of sustained growth both within existing and emerging sectors of the market.Being responsible for approximately 50-60% of total turnover, I work autonomously in order to manage my own sales portfolio and ensure that the corresponding vehicles progress through the quote, ordering, conversion, preparation, delivery and aftersales stages.This day-to-day process accounts for a significant period of my time but provides critical experience and information which is fed back into my marketing and planning activities to facilitate further growth both in market share and product range over the medium to long term.

Employed immediately prior to the launch of a new business venture that has seen the company diversify into a different market, I have been directly involved with the operation of a multi-channel cycle retail business and have enjoyed a diverse role within a close knit and compact team in order to maintain the day to day running of the business and build sales over the initial 4 years of trading. This has allowed me to enhance my customer focused skill set and providing direct opportunity to apply my academic knowledge to a growing business, my responsibilities include; providing sales and customer service within showroom & mail order environments, writing and maintaining content & product descriptions for tweekscycles.com, promoting customer engagement through use of traditional and social marketing, Managing the expansion of the eBay store & providing front line customer support whilst also running sponsorship activities and organising exhibition attendances.

A part-time position based around and supporting my higher education; this role provided me with opportunity to develop my interpersonal skills in a fast paced specialist retail environment and furthered my understanding and interest in the automotive and cycling markets.Over the course of 3 years I established myself as a key member of the customer facing store team; tasked primarily on providing high levels of service at all times, the role also required me to meet specific sales targets (up and cross-selling), resolve customer issues and complaints, install motoring parts, accessories and consumables to customers vehicles and manage a section of the shop floor during shift.
