Hello and thanks for looking at my profileA lot of my time at work has been spent in marketing. When thinking of marketing, most would think website, brochure, branding, promotion, exhibitions, video, emails right? Yes that is right however, before you do any of that you need to take a look at some fundamental marketing principles.First, thing big and take a step back and analyse what's going on out there in the world (politically, legally, economically, environmentally, technologically, socially) and in the market place (customers, competitors and suppliers). From this analysis we can then identify threats and opportunities and how your brand/company can meet them.Next, set objectives and goals that are in line with sales goals and company mission statement. Then set a strategy which is basically what products are we going to sell, who are we going to sell to, what price and how are we going to promote it.It's at this stage we can now get down to branding, exhibitions, website, video, brochure, sales support material, lead generation, social media and whole host of activities that must be done to achieve those objectives within a budget and time frame.Surely everyone knows this and most businesses should have something like this already established? Yes but maybe it needs clarifying, maybe things have changed, perhaps you need to diversify to grow the business, you might not have somebody dedicated to look after marketing.My mission is to add value to business by introducing strategic planning and integrated communications activities.
