Mr. Hardy is a Senior Materials Engineer in WSP’s Dartmouth office. Matt has the role of Concrete Laboratory Supervising Professional for Dartmouth, as well as the West White Rose Project in Argentia, NL. Most recently, Matt was the Materials Team Lead for WSP’s Burlington Materials Laboratory and the Materials Discipline Lead for WSP’s Central Canada Region. Formerly the Laboratory Supervisory Engineer for the Muskrat Falls Hydroelectric Project, responsibilities included coordination and operational oversight of all technical field and laboratory personnel performing materials testing on the site, review and reporting of all materials testing results and reports, overall management of the laboratory quality and of the laboratory CCIL Category 2 Certification, and maintaining appropriate project and operational expenses and budgets. Previous to these projects, Matt was Materials Group Lead for WSP’s Newfoundland & Labrador operations, managing permanent laboratories in St. John’s and Corner Brook, as well as field laboratories on projects around the province. Matt’s materials engineering capacity includes the participation in and development of non-destructive evaluation programs, concrete mix trial programs and associated testing, consulting services for concrete materials, development and participation in concrete structure investigation programs, and aggregate source investigations.
